Privacy policy
How we handle your data – and what rights you have.
1. Controller
The controller for the processing of personal data on this website is:
Torio Association
Uetlibergstrasse 298D
8045 Zürich
Email: info@torio.ch
You can contact us at this address at any time with questions about data protection.
2. Principles
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG) and, where applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We only collect data we actually need, use it solely for the stated purpose and do not pass it on without good reason.
3. Server log files
When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records the technical data your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser type and operating system. This data serves the secure and stable operation of the website and is usually deleted after 30 days. We do not link it to an individual.
Hosting provider: HostTime, a product of Codia GmbH, Switzerland.
4. Getting in touch
If you send us an email, we process your details in order to answer your enquiry. We keep these messages for as long as is necessary to deal with them.
5. Newsletter
For the newsletter we need your email address. Sign-up uses the double opt-in procedure: after entering your address you receive an email with a confirmation link. Only once you click that link do we add you to the mailing list. We record the time of sign-up and of confirmation so that we can demonstrate your consent. We also note which language you signed up in, so that you receive the newsletter in your language.
Sending is handled by Brevo (based in France), who processes the data on our behalf.
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every newsletter, or by sending us a short email. We will then delete your address from the list.
6. Event registration
Registration for our events runs through Eventfrog (based in Switzerland). We collect name, date of birth, email address, postal address and club. We use these details to organise the event, assign participants to age groups, communicate with them and handle billing.
For minors, registration is completed by a parent or legal guardian, whose contact details serve as our point of contact. After the event we keep the data only for as long as is legally or organisationally necessary. Eventfrog's own privacy terms additionally apply to processing on their platform.
7. Cookies
This website uses no cookies and no analytics or tracking services. We do not build usage profiles and do not analyse your behaviour on the site. Should we introduce such services later, we will obtain your consent first.
8. Third-party content
Simply opening our pages transmits no data to third parties. Fonts, images and scripts are hosted on our own server.
Newsletter sign-up: when you enter your address and submit the form, it is transmitted to Brevo (based in France). This only happens on submission, not when the page loads.
External links: we link to Eventfrog for registration, to Flickr for our photos, and to Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. These connections are only made once you click such a link. From that moment the respective provider's terms apply. Some of them are based outside Switzerland and the EU, including in the USA.
9. Photos and video at events
We take photos and video at our events. We use the material on our website, in the newsletter and on our social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Flickr).
If you would rather we didn't, that is no problem – a short message to info@torio.ch is enough. We will then remove the material in question as quickly as possible.
10. Data security
This website is transmitted in encrypted form (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
11. Your rights
You have the right to request information about the personal data we process, as well as its correction, deletion or the restriction of processing. You may also object to processing and, where applicable, request that your data be released in a common format.
Please contact info@torio.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
12. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this page is the one that applies.
